Our Beginning...
League of Angels is a non-profit organization that was established on April 2, 2019 to provide organized sports and physical activities for individuals with special needs in our parish. Our founder, Courtney Nunez, saw the need for such programs as individuals had to travel to the city and Northshore for comparable activities. She spent countless hours and days attending activities of similar organizations. We are a 501c3 that relies solely on donations from our community and never charge any fee for our members to participate. Our organization is run by a volunteer team of 4 Executive Board members and 2 additional Board members.
Activities
Sports have included baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, pickleball and more!
Other members of the community are actively involved in helping us to get creative with our events. Some examples of those events are: St. Bernard Sheriff's Office (Junior Deputy Program), Girls Gone Buff (Angel's Gone Buff), line dancing classes (The Gathering), and more!
